• Update on out-of-district enrollment
As you may know, the Kansas Legislature passed a new school finance formula to replace the current block grant put in place two years ago. The block grant was a set amount of money that did not shift with enrollment numbers or other factors that change a district’s needs. With the static amount of funding provided from the block grant, USD 345 reluctantly made the decision to decline new out-of-district requests. However, with the new school finance formula, enrollment numbers and other important factors will again be a determining factor in funding. Therefore, Seaman Schools is happy to announce that we will be removing the restriction on out-of-district requests and once again accepting applications. Out-of-district students may be admitted to the extent that staff, facilities, equipment, and supplies are available. Please view the BOE policy (effective July 1, 2017) in the link below for more information.
