Rochester Discussion

The board agreed to move forward with the listing of the Rochester property. District administration will begin to work with a realtor on the listing.



Teaching & Learning Report

This summer we had 115 students take the Drivers Education course offered at Seaman High School from June 3rd – July 31st. Every student received a minimum of six hours behind the wheel. Students worked on basic car maneuvers as well as all parking (parallel, angle, and perpendicular), scanning intersections, maintaining lane position and following distances, backing up etc. To view the drivers ed summary, click here

Special Services Report

The USD 345 special services department earned 100% compliance in all regulatory areas of the SY 2018-19 Indicator 13 review. This review is based on 10 randomly selected students by the Kansas Department of Education. To view the entire special services report, click here.

Climate Survey

318 staff completed the end-of-the-year annual climate survey. Dr. Noble reviewed the climate survey data with the board. The item that was most improved from 2018 to 2019 was the increase in "compared to other places of employment, I am satisfied with my salary."

Action Items

Approved the FY20 budget as published.

Approved the new lease with Sunrise Optimist Club that would run from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2024.

Approved the bid from Shawnee Mission Ford for a new maintenance vehicle for $40,954.

Approved KASB policy updates as recommended. 


Next 345 Board of Education Meeting

The next regularly scheduled board meeting will take place on September 9. It is scheduled to start at 6:00 pm. The Seaman USD #345 Board of Education will meet at the Seaman Education Center, 901 NW Lyman Rd, in the Ann Minihan Board Room.
