ASAP stands for After School Academic Program. It is held before school and after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. ASAP is an opportunity for students to get extra help in classes they are struggling in. Many students also use ASAP as an extra study hall.
Mr. Jeff Pierce
Mr. Pierce is in his sixth year teaching in the Seaman School District. He teaches 9th grade Modern World History. This is his 15th year overall teaching. He has previously taught 8th grade U.S. History at Washburn Rural Middle School where he was the middle school head cross country and track coach as well as high school assistant boys basketball coach. Mr. Pierce is also a boys basketball assistant coach (JV head coach) and was an assistant for the cross country team at Seaman High School for four years. He received his Master's Degree in Educational Administration with an emphasis in Building Leadership from Washburn University in 2008 and a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education and minor in Geography from Kansas State University in 2003. Mr. Pierce and his wife, Keelin, have two daughters, Kennedy (6) and Kallie (4). They are expecting their third child in February of 2018. His wife is the Head Principal at Whitson Elementary School in USD 501 and he has many teachers in his family. His daughters love playing with their black lab, Belle, and running around their big yard. In his spare time he likes to run, play basketball, work in his yard, and hang out with his family.
Ms. Elizabeth Woodman
Mrs. Woodman loves to share her passion for life science with students! An alumni of Bethany College, she has highly qualified endorsements in Math, Science, and Biology. This is Mrs. Woodman's 15th year of teaching, having previously taught 6th grade math and science, and 8th-9th Algebra 1. She was honored as a Master educator by the Genetics Science Learning Center of the University of Utah, participating in their summer Neuroscience Institute on Human Senses. As a mother of two teens and a 'tween', she has enjoyed band, orchestra, wrestling, cross-country, FFA and theater activities and trips. Mrs. Woodman serves on the worship team at Northland CC (keyboard/vocal). Outside of school or church, her interests include: genetics research, performance dog raising/training, and baking/cooking.
Mrs. Woodman's Biology class uses the website Schoology. On Schoology students and parents can access essential classroom handouts, links to resource materials, and study tools. Each student is assigned a username and password. Parents can ask their student for their login information to access Schoology.
Mrs. Maret Schrader
Mrs. Maret Schrader is the Language Arts teacher for the White Team. Mrs. Schrader and her husband Clayton, who is the Dean of Students at Highland Park Central Elementary, have a daughter Charlotte. In her free time, Mrs. Schrader enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her family. Mrs. Schrader is a graduate of Emporia State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education in the field of English and is currenlty working on her Master's in School Counseling.
Mrs. Markie Dinkel
Hi, my name is Markie Dinkel. I began teaching at Seaman High School's Freshman Center in August of 2012. I attended Washburn University where I played soccer for four years and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in May of 2012. I married my husband, Jason, in October of 2012 and graduated with my Masters Degree in Instructional Design & Technology from Emporia State University in May of 2017.
