Art Teacher

It’s funny to think how much of my educational path was inspired by a woman with a funky hat and silly shoes. The first eight years of my education were spent at Our Lady Of Guadalupe Catholic School and by 2nd grade I knew art was my gift, and I knew I wanted to be a teacher. I wanted to be Sister Noel, a beautiful lady, who was gentle, fun and loved to do art. Countless positive strokes targeted my artistic ability throughout my elementary education and continued through Hayden High. I recieved a BA from K.U. in art education in 1980 and started my teaching career in the Seaman district at Logan Junior High. In 2007, I earned a Masters of Arts in Education from Baker University.

After twenty five years in room 48 at Logan I moved farther north to the Seaman building, in one of the most incredible spaces the Freshman Center has to offer, room 901. This year I am teaching Design I & II, Jewelry I and Independant Study. This is my 33rd year in the Seaman district and I am still quite passionate about art education.

Fortunately, in the years following second grade, I realized that I could become a teacher like Sister Noel without wearing the funky hat and the silly shoes.
