Mrs. Nancy Ramsey

Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Nancy Ramsey

Hola, me llamo Sra. Ramsey! (My name is Mrs. Ramsey), and I am excited (emocionada) about this year of school with my young students (estudiantes).

I earned B.A. degrees in Spanish and English from Emporia State University back in the day, home schooled two of my children through high school, then returned to Emporia for K-12 Spanish licensure. After happily teaching MS/HS Spanish for three years in a small rural district, I applied for a position with Seaman specifically because of its forward-thinking vision for introducing Spanish to elementary students. I am thrilled to be a part of implementing this vision. The benefits of early second language learning are well documented and impressive.

Although I initially learned Spanish in high school, I have since visited or lived in several Spanish-speaking countries:

Dominican Republic

El Salvador

My time in these places along with Hispanic communities here in the United States has only intensified my love for the people and the language. In fact the only place I'd rather be than Logan Elementary is . . . Mexico!
