About the Teacher
I have been teaching for over 30 years! I received my Undergraduate Degree from Emporia State University and my Masters Degree from Kansas State University. I have taught grades ranging from kindergarten to fifth in the public schools and physical education classes at Washburn University. My favorite subjects to teach are math and social studies. Over the years, I have mentored numerous students from Washburn, Kansas State, Kansas and Emporia State University at various levels of their education and enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with them.
My husband and I have been married for almost 32 years and enjoy doing all kinds of things together including half-marathons, triathlons and various other sporting activities, like scuba diving! In fact, we have ridden our bikes across the state of Missouri twice! We have almost 20 acres and spend as much time outside as possible. In my spare time, I enjoy reading (the Topeka/Shawnee County Bookmobile is my home away from home!), crafts such as knitting and crocheting, baking and trying new recipes. We have two children who both graduated from Kansas State University and work for the Department of Defense in Washington, DC. I am an avid Kansas State fan and my classroom shows it!
