Mr. Danny Miller
Social Studies Teacher: I am beginning my 15th year in the district and will be teaching 7th grade Geography and Kansas History. The Geography class will consist of students learning about our world in spatial terms, places and regions, physical and human systems, and environment and society. Students will utilize the National Geographic text purchased one year ago. This class will begin the year and proceed through at least three nine-weeks. The final weeks of the school year will transition into Kansas History. During this time, students will focus on the geography of the state, as well as the notable Kansans of past and present, and the economic past and challenges the state has dealt with.
Expectations: 1. complete class work on time 2. have inner motivation to succeed 3. learn to be organized and ready each day 4. use planners effectively 5. seek parental involvement as needed 6. learn and have fun!
Personal: My wife Thui is employed at Capital City Banks as a sub. Our oldest son, Nolan, is married and lives in Grand Rapids, MI with his wife Ingrid and newborn Ellory Veda. He is a KState grad and a Landscape Architect for Nederveld in Grand Rapids. Our youngest son, Trenton, is a recent grad of KState majoring in Mass Communications / Journalism. He is employed with USA Basketball in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I enjoy sports, attending flat track motorcyle racing, trail running, yard work, and hanging out with friends and family.
