Fall Play

We are excited to announce our Fall 2017 play.

And a Child Shall Lead by Michael Slade  November 9, 10. 11 7:00 p.m.

This is the heroic and true story of children coming of age in Terezin, the "Jewish city" established by the Nazis near Prague as a way station before the death camps. In the face of unspeakable horror, these children use their determination and creativity to build lives filled with hope and beauty -- playing, studying, making art, and writing an underground newspaper -- all at the peril of being executed. Their actual poems and stories are woven into a fast-paced drama, evoking the universality of children caught in the insanity of war.

Hello and thank you for taking an interest in Seaman High School’s Theatre Department. My name is Madison Flory and I am the president of our International Thespians Society, troupe 2001.

I would like to say that this year we are very excited to see new faces. Theatre is a place that is accepting of all who look for somewhere to belong. We offer experiences in building sets for those interested in construction. We have positions in hair, makeup, and costume crews if that is what you like. We learn about lighting and sound design as well. There are also many opportunities for those interested in performance roles.

International Thespian Society and Seaman High School Theatre have a lot of fun events that will take place this year. This will begin with our first mainstage show of the year, a drama titled “And a Child Shall Lead.” Performances for this production will be November 9,10, 11. We will also be hosting a haunted trail in October for those looking for a good scare. Our musical this year will be “Little Shop of Horrors.” Performances for this show will be March 9,10,11. Our final mainstage show of the year will be in May. It will be two one act plays directed by seniors. International Thespian Society will also host a district wide Variety Show to show off your talents!

We’d love to see you participate in the theatre department this year and experience all the fun our theatre has to offer! We also hope you will consider joining our Theatre Honor Society (International Thespian Society)

    Thanks,

    mad

    Madison Flory

    2017-2018 International Thespian Society President

Director for 2018 Spring One Acts

Spring Musical

We are happy to announce our SPRING 2018 Musical-

Little Shop of Horrors   March 8,9,10 7:00 p.m.
Feed the need for musical hilarity with this delicious sci-fi smash about a man-eating plant.

A deviously delicious Broadway and Hollywood sci-fi smash musical, Little Shop Of Horrors has devoured the hearts of theatre goers for over 30 years. Howard Ashman and Alan Menken (Disney's The Little Mermaid, Beauty And The Beast, and Aladdin) are the creative geniuses behind what has become one of the most popular shows in the world.

The meek floral assistant Seymour Krelborn stumbles across a new breed of plant he names "Audrey II" - after his coworker crush. This foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivore promises unending fame and fortune to the down and out Krelborn as long as he keeps feeding it, BLOOD. Over time, though, Seymour discovers Audrey II's out of this world origins and intent towards global domination!
