Mr. Tim Collins

Raised in Paola, Kansas, I attended Ottawa University and graduated in 1992.  While at Ottawa I played soccer, served as the editor of our campus paper, and served in student senate.  After graduating with a degree in English, I returned the next year and completed my student teaching.

With my degree in hand and my certificate, I began 12 years at Topeka West High School.  During my time there I coached the boys and girls soccer programs, was the sponsor of our school's writing club, Athaeneum, and also sponsored the literary magazine, Zeitgeist.

I taught Junior English, Sophomore English, Creative Writing 1-4, Senior Composition and AP English.  After leaving I came here to Seaman High School for one year.  I left to take a position as the head women's soccer coach at Washburn University.

Retired from coaching, I'm back in the classroom!  I have two boys: Nico and CJ.  Nico is a senior Music Performance major at Washburn and CJ is a Theater major.  My wife, Tina, is the Study Abroad Coordinator at Washburn.
