Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Glenn O'Neil

I completed my undergraduate degree at McPherson College. While attending McPherson College, I competed in both football and track. After I completed my playing career, I was a member of the college's men's basketball staff and worked under Coach Roger Trimmell.

My first full-time teaching and coaching job was at Frankfort, Kansas. Coaching under Hall-of-Fame Coach Larry Schroeder in football and being named the head boys' basketball coach during my tenure in Frankfort was a great experience. The basketball team in my nine years at Frankfort was 150-62 which included three trips to the state tournament. K-6 physical education and middle school history were my teaching assignments.

After a brief one year stint at Wellington High School in south central Kansas, my family and I moved west to Scott City, Kansas where we called home for the last 20 years. We had a great amount of fun and excitement in basketball as our record was 371-114. This included 11 trips to the state tournament with five state championships and two state runner-ups. Highlights of these championships were coaching at least one son in each of these victories.

While at Scott City, I also had the privilege of working with both the football and track programs. After 11 years, I turned over the defensive coordinator duties after I was named the head football coach. Scott City's record during my nine years of being head coach was 97-14 with one state championship and one state runner-up. These 20 years were a very rewarding experience for myself and my family as we were surrounded by great coaches, tremendous players, and a supportive community.

My wife, Jennifer, and I have been married for 29 years and have three children. Jennifer will be teaching 7th grade English in the middle school. Our daughter recently married and will adjust to living, teaching, and coaching in Defiance, Ohio, where she and her husband reside. Our two sons are also education majors. Brett is a senior at Central Missouri, and Trey is a sophomore at Fort Hays State University. Both boys play basketball at their respective schools.

We are finally settling in to our new home in North Topeka and have really enjoyed meeting the coaching staff and administration. We feel very fortunate to be in the Seaman School District and look forward to making more memories for the books!
