Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Kate Welch
After 24 years in education (spanning two states, three districts, and eight buildings) I can chart my career by school mascots. To date, I have been a Thunderbird, a Panther, a Mustang, a Warhawk, and a Lion. Now, in my 25th year, I am proud to be a Viking!
My teaching experiences include 7-12 ELA, Reading Specialist, Gifted Facilitator, CTE coordination, and Instructional Coach.
Assisting students and their families with post-high school planning is a passion of mine. There have never been greater opportunities for the success of all students. That being said, there is also a lot of information to process! Please contact me if you have questions about Advanced Placement courses, Concurrent Enrollment (SHS+Washburn U. credit), Washburn Tech Certificate programs, or Career Tech-Ed. Pathways.
When I’m not at school I’m living the dream on the family farm, west of Lecompton. My husband, Sean, is a master carpenter and hobby farmer. Our teenagers, Billy and Maddy, attend Perry-Lecompton High School and keep us very busy with sports and activities.
I’m looking forward to a great year at Seaman High School! GO VIKES!!
