Board Approved Reopen Plan
Posted on 08/10/2021
On Monday, August 9, 2021, the USD 345 Board of Education approved the District Plan for Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services to begin the 2021-22 school year.

A brief summary of the PreK-12 plan for all USD 345 student and staff:
  • Masks will be required for PreK-6th grade students and staff while in the classroom with exception to medical and behavioral reasons. Masks will not be required outdoors.
  • Masks will be recommended for 7th-12th grade students and staff.
  • Students can opt in for the Test to Learn/Test to Play program after they have been identified as a close contact to a positive case with parent/guardian consent.
  • Federal transportation orders require masks to be worn by individuals on school buses. Students will cohort while on the bus.
USD 345 is committed to keeping students in school and in-person during the upcoming school year with the least disruption as possible and priorities around the health and safety of our students, staff, and community. The reopen plan will utilize testing (K-12) and vaccinations (ages 12 and up) as mitigation strategies, in addition to physical distancing, cohorting, regular cleaning/disinfecting, ventilation, handwashing, respiratory etiquette, and staying home when sick, etc.
