KSHSAA Performing Arts School of Excellence

SHS Named a Commended KSHSAA Performing Arts School of Excellence
Posted on 08/19/2025
Seaman High School has been recognized by the Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA) as a Commended Performing Arts School of Excellence for the 2024-25 school year. This honor highlights Seaman’s outstanding achievements across music, debate, speech, and theater.

Each year, KSHSAA partners with the Kansas Music Educators Association (KMEA), Kansas Speech Communication Association (KSCA), and Kansas Thespians to evaluate schools across the state. Together, they identify programs that demonstrate excellence in multiple areas of the performing arts. From that process, one overall winner, a select group of finalists, and 18 commended schools—including Seaman—were chosen to receive statewide recognition.

Seaman High School will receive a certificate from KSHSAA in honor of its dedication to the performing arts. This recognition affirms the hard work of Seaman students and educators who continue to raise the bar in creative expression and performance and serves as a testament to Seaman High School’s commitment to providing rich opportunities for students to showcase their talents and grow as artists, performers, and leaders.
