MELC Fall Staycation Field Trip

Preschool Students Enjoy a Fall Staycation Field Trip
Posted on 10/15/2025
Our preschool students embarked on a special “Staycation Field Trip” right on campus, filled with fun and engaging fall-themed learning experiences. The event was organized by the MELC PTO with donations from Shively Farms. Seaman High School teaching students were on hand to help transform the Mathes Early Learning Center into a mini autumn wonderland, offering preschoolers opportunities to explore, create, and celebrate the fall season together.

Outdoor activities will included a bouncy castle, a mini pumpkin patch, a pumpkin decorating station, and a corn sensory area, each designed to spark curiosity and support hands-on learning. The fun continued inside with large pumpkins for class exploration provided by the PTO, along with seasonal treats like popcorn, apple cider, and pumpkin muffins for every child to enjoy.

Events like this Staycation Field Trip not only bring learning to life for our youngest students but also highlight the power of community partnerships. A big thank you goes to our PTO for their ongoing support, Shively Farms for their donations, and to our high school volunteers for helping make this fall celebration a memorable experience for everyone.
