SHS Teacher Rick Rineberg named Runner-Up for National Award
Posted on 03/24/2026
Rick Rineberg was recently named the Kansas State winner of the Dr. Tom & Betty Lawrence History Teacher Grant, an honor presented through the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution. After winning the local and state competitions, his application was forwarded for national consideration alongside top history teachers from across the country who were nominated by their respective state SAR societies.
We are proud to share that Rick was selected as the 2nd place recipient at the national level, an outstanding achievement that reflects both his dedication to teaching American history and the exceptional work taking place in our classrooms at USD 345 Seaman School District.
Rick was formally recognized at two events:
March 14, 2026 – Chapter award presentation at the Thomas Jefferson Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution meeting held at Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library in Marvin Auditorium.
March 21, 2026 – State and national recognition during the awards luncheon at the Kansas SAR Annual Conference at the SEK Impact Center.
This recognition highlights the caliber of educators we have at Seaman High School and the meaningful impact our teachers have on students’ understanding of American history and civic responsibility.
Congratulations again to Rick on this well-deserved national recognition.
