The Kansas State Department of Education’s (KSDE) recently reported statewide growth in dual credit, Advanced Placement (AP) achievement, and career education participation across Kansas.
At Seaman High School, those achievements are clearly reflected in our own numbers:
- 338 SHS students took dual credit postsecondary courses during the 2024-25 school year.
- 1307 Dual credit postsecondary hours earned by SHS students during the 2024-25 school year.
- 112 SHS AP exams earned scores of 3, 4, or 5 during the 2024-25 school year.
- 73 SHS students took Washburn Tech classes during the 2024-25 school year.
- 59 Washburn Tech certificates earned during the 2024-25 school year.
Seaman High School’s achievements clearly reflect the district’s vision for future-ready graduates. By engaging in college-level coursework and hands-on career training while still in high school, students are developing a plan and the skills to succeed in college, a career, the military, or whatever path they choose.
In the KSDE release, Kansas Education Commissioner Dr. Randy Watson emphasized the importance of preparing students both academically and through hands-on experiences.
“The efforts to increase graduation rates while simultaneously preparing students academically and with hands-on skills will continue to increase students’ chances for postsecondary success and strengthen the state’s workforce,” Watson said.
As Kansas celebrates statewide gains in academic preparation and workforce readiness, Seaman continues to strengthen programs and partnerships that prepare every student for success beyond graduation.
