With the voter registration deadline approaching, seniors at Seaman High School had the opportunity to take part in an engaging and educational experience focused on civic responsibility. Representatives from the League of Women Voters, in collaboration with the Seaman High School Social Studies Department, spent the day guiding students through the voter registration process and helping them prepare for their first election.
During the sessions, students learned about the history of voting, explored how to read and understand their ballots, and discovered where to find their polling place. They also learned about the different ways to vote, including early voting and mail-in options, ensuring they feel confident and informed when it’s their time to participate.
This hands-on learning experience connected classroom discussions about government and democracy to real-world action. It was a meaningful way to help students see how their voice and participation contribute to their communities.
