As you may be aware, Boys & Girls Clubs of Topeka has some exciting changes that will take effect August 16, 2017. We will be expanding programs into each of USD 345’s elementary schools and no longer utilizing the BGCT Indian Creek location.
Students will not only be able to access BGCT before-school programs at their school, but after-school and school-day-out programs as well. This advancement will allow kids to easily transition to an after-school program with supportive, caring staff offering homework help, tutoring support, fitness and lots of fun in the comfort of their own school. Members won’t lose valuable time on a bus and school based sites will be more convenient for families.
Our programs focus on three priority outcomes: academic success, good character & citizenship, and healthy lifestyles. Members have structured time in the program to support each of these outcomes with collaboration occurring at each school site. Programming includes; reading support, homework help, physical activity, curriculum on making smart/healthy choices, and opportunities to improve their communities, just to name a few.
